How to enter

Entering this contest is easy and you can enter in a few different ways.

  2. Read the Student Squad announcement article and in a comment below that article, tell us who you know would make a great Student Squad ambassador (first name only) and why you think they are perfect for the program (only about five students will be selected from all applicants). 
  3. For up to two (2) additional entries, create a public post on a social media channel (one entry per channel!) sharing with your friends and followers one of your back to school tech essentials; include the hashtag #BestBuyMSIContest, so we can find your post, and include a picture of the blog contest like that shown here. Then return here and tell us in a comment below on which channel you posted it and the name of your channel (since many people use pseudonyms) so that we can check and verify your entry. You can use any social media channel (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.), but the post must be public so we can verify it is there.

  1. It has been my son’s dream to have a gaming pc, and this laptop would be amazing for him as he goes into grade 12 and also for me as I’ve just finished college!!! My son would be able to use this for both gaming and school assignments! His chromebook from school is much too small for him and with him having to try to type out assignments on such a tiny keyboard, it’s not helping him with motor skills (autism) it’s actually hindering his progress! I would use this for job searching and of course gaming when my son isn’t!!

  26. I would use this laptop for both gaming and schoolwork. Right now, the only gaming machine I have is my desktop, which I can not bring anywhere when I travel. With a laptop such as the Pulse GL76, I would be able to game on the go while also having a large screen and powerful workhorse to work on school assignments and related work.

    My favorite feature of the laptop is the large 17.3-inch, 144hz, 1080p display. Since I often have many tabs and programs open at once, having a large screen would allow me to split-screen tabs and programs alongside one another, allowing for easier viewing instead of flipping back and forth between different tabs and programs. The 144hz display would also be great for gaming – since I would not suffer from screen tearing, like what happens on lower refresh rate laptop displays.

    I would use the MSI Pulse GL76 for two things – creating gamified, interactive learning objects with rapid authoring tools to help others learn English on my website, and to play Roblox with my 3 daughters!!!

    I especially love the higher refresh rate of 144Hz while playing which would save me time and that is precious to me!!!
