For four days, Fan Expo Canada took over the spacious Metro Toronto Convention Centre for its annual mega celebration of all things pop culture. On top of the amazing PlayStation VR experiences I had there, I also had plenty of time to stop by the gaming booths to play some of the hottest games coming this fall, and beyond. Here are the highlights!

We're just a few days away from big launch of EA Sports' NHL 17, and to get the lowdown on all the exciting new features coming in this year's edition, I had the opportunity to sit down with the game's producer, Sean “Rammer” Ramjagsingh. New game modes, deeper customization, gameplay refinements, and the importance of fan feedback were just some of the topics we covered. Come take a read!

Today at a special press conference in New York, Sony announced a slimmer and lighter PlayStation 4 system, and finally pulled the curtain back on their powerful new PlayStation 4 Pro. Earlier in the year, Sony acknowledged that an improved PS4 console was coming, and now we know what it will feature: support for 4K quality images and high-dynamic-range technology. Games on PS4 Pro will look richer and more detailed for the best game experience possible. The great news? Both of these PS4 consoles are expected to arrive before the holidays!

This past weekend at Fan Expo Canada 2016, PlayStation Canada gave me a special preview of two of their upcoming PlayStation VR games—RIGS: Mechanized Combat League and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. Following that, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment let me “become the Batman” in their all-new virtual reality game, Batman Arkham VR. All three VR games offered a thrilling sneak peak of the future of PlayStation gaming where immersive, 360-degree experiences will take centre stage.

Following my positive experience with NHL 17’s local Versus mode at E3, recently I had a chance to participate in an NHL 17 preview to explore additional modes and get a more intimate understanding of the huge gameplay changes arriving with this year's edition. Even at this early stage, the vast number of improvements is evident: more customization options, improved presentation, tighter gameplay, better A.I., and deeper modes. Get those consoles and controllers ready because September is set to be one of the biggest months in video games ever. Bioshock. Destiny. Batman. NHL. FIFA. Dragon Quest. Forza. Yo-kai Watch. These are just some of the incredible game franchises that will get new releases this month. As if that wasn't impressive enough, there is also some new IPs on the horizon, including Ubisoft's Just Sing and the Xbox-exclusive ReCore. Let's take a look at the games!
