The most important technology this year is voice activation, and the most sought after tech device is the Google Home. Once you have it, you can make your life easier by learning all that it can do for you. From January 26th until March 4th, Best Buy and Google are offering Google Home workshops across the country at select stores (see below for the complete list of stores or contact the store near you to see if they will participate).

Google home can already do many, many things, and its functionality will continue to grow as Google adds more integration each month. The Best Buy workshops can’t cover everything so they’ll focus on a couple key features: smart plugs and smart lighting. For example, my bedside lamp is connected to an Wemo Mini Smart Plug, and I have my Google Home mini set up so all I have to say is, “Hey Google, turn on my bedroom light” and the light turns on.

You will learn more about these different technologies during the workshop. It will be fun. It will also get you thinking about other things to try with your Google Home. Most importantly, it will make you feel like an expert with the newest technology available so you can then teach your family the wonders of Google Home.

When and where will the Google Home workshops happen

Workshops will be offered at select times in certain Best Buy stores across Canada from January 26th until March 4th.
