Ubisoft impresses with its line up of games
Ubisoft never fails to impress with their yearly E3 press conferences. This year was no different! Let’s take a look at the highlights from Ubisoft’s E3 2018 press conference from earlier today.
The ultimate party game is back Just Dance 2019
Ubisoft kicked off their E3 2018 press conference in colourful way. Several dancers, and mascots, made their entrance to the room where the conference was being held. Upon making their way to the stage, a screen with the Just Dance 2019 logo was shown.
Just Dance 2019 brings the party to players with 40 new songs and every copy of the game includes one-month access to the Just Dance Unlimited streaming service. New this year, Just Dance has partnered with creative experts from around the world to create stunning universes for the game.

Beyond Good and Evil 2
Quite possibly one of the most anticipated games of Ubisoft’s press conference Beyond Good and Evil 2 made an appearance. Space travel, aerial combat and a wide range of characters are among some of the highlights shown.
We still do not know much about this game and it’s clear to see that it is still heavily in development. Hopefully we will find out more about the game in the upcoming months.
Trials Rising
Today Ubisoft announced that it was bringing the fan favourite Trials franchise back. The brand new game is titled Trials Rising and will release February 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The game will have a fresh look, twice as many tracks, new locations around the world, more competition and all-new features.
There will be a closed beta of the game, which gamers can provide feedback to help shape the development of the game.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Donkey Kong Adventure
One of my favourite Switch games of 2017, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is getting downloadable content in the form of Donkey Kong Adventure. In this DLC, you can play as Donkey Kong complete with a new story, new enemies, new secrets and reinvented tactical gameplay.
Donkey Kong Adventure will be available for download on June 26, 2018 and June 25, 2018 for Season Pass owners.

Take to the sea in Skull & Bones
Shown for the first time at Ubisoft’s E3 2017 press conference, new Skull & Bones footage was shown. This time around we got a glimpse of the new PvPvE content titled Hunting Grounds. You can choose to sail alone or as part of a pirate gang.
Hunting Grounds will be available alongside the Disputed Waters multiplayer mode and Deadly Encounters. In the Disputed Waters PvP mode, players form two teams of five as they fight over riches, sink their opponents and ultimately escape from the clutches of fierce pirate hunters. Skull & Bones is scheduled to release in 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Transference
We got an updated look at the psychological thriller game called Transference. It’s a collaboration between Ubisoft Montreal and SpectreVision, and merges both movie and video game into one. In this first-person exploration game, you’ll search for clues, solve puzzles, and uncover the corrupted collective consciousness of the Hayes family through simulations of their home.
Transference releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PlayStation VR this fall.
Fox McCloud joins the cast of characters in Starlink Battle For Atlas
Developed by Ubisoft Toronto, Starlink caught my interest from last year’s press conference. Starlink launches October 16, 2018 and is an open world space game, which features modular toy technology.
Footage of the game shown featured none other than Nintendo’s very own Fox McCloud. Exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version, you can play through the entire campaign as Fox McCloud and embark on exclusive missions in Atlas featuring other friends from the Star Fox universe.
Starlink Battle for Atlas has quickly become one of my most anticipated games this fall and I cannot wait to play it.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Riding a horse, killing a bear, shooting with an arrow, sailing by boat, swimming at sea, all this will be possible in the next Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The story takes place in ancient Greece and as a result, the game is full of stories and mythical sculptures of that time.
A few weeks ago I paid a special visit to Ubisoft Quebec. I was among one of the first people in the world to play Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Look for my hands on impression of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey soon on the Best Buy Canada Plug-in Blog.

Final thoughts
Ubisoft did two things right. First, they showed some fantastic games that are coming out in the near future. Second, they wowed us with some really great games coming out this year. I am really looking forward to Starlink, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle DLC Donkey Kong Adventure this year.
Moreover, Skull & Bones and Trails Rising look promising for 2019. Let me know in the comments section below what game shown today are you most looking forward to.

Do a Barrel Roll!
Ubisoft and Nintendo have been working so well together lately, I’m glad to see that they have more games in development for the Switch! It’s just too bad that none of the graphically intensive games are likely to come to the Switch.
I can understand why Assassin’s Creed will probably not receive a Switch port, as people probably like to continue following a franchise on the same platform, but I think we could see a slightly less graphically intensive Skull + Bones do decent numbers on the Switch. I don’t have much hope, but I do have a hope that we will eventually see Beyond Good and Evil 2 come to Switch, as the original did come to GameCube back in the day. Maybe we’ll see a Switch port of the original before that one launches to gauge interest in bringing the sequel.
