Premium TVs begin with outstanding new technology

I get this question quite frequently on the blog and on social media, “I want to buy a new TV; can you tell me which TV should I get?” My answer is to figure out your budget and space considerations for the room where it will be placed, then get the most future friendly TV with the largest screen that will fit in your home that you can afford. Future friendly means best technology available. And this year is a banner year for new technology in televisions.

I am planning on getting a new set for my home one day. I have a budget in mind and a TV size in mind (65 inch). I haven’t decided which brand to purchase yet because they are all so tempting! Each of the top manufactures has released new televisions with outstanding new technologies that make the colours more vibrant, details clearer, and the overall entertainment experience much better.

Do your research and plan for your next TV

Buying a television does require doing a bit of research. This contest will help you do that so you will know which future friendly Premium TV will be right for your home. There are three television prizes, one from each of the major TV manufacturers, Samsung, Sony, and LG, as shown here.

  1. The Samsung 4k tv’s are truly the brightest with 8 million pixel which is the most by any tv manufacturer. The frame would be my pick as it’s supposed to look like a piece of art on the wall but it’s surely is one even without the art on the screen.

  9. I love the Sony XBR75X900H because it’s the most future proof 4K LED with its HDMI 2.1 and eArc support. It’s also features full array LED which give you the best HDR experience.

I’m pretty excited about the Triluminos Display which adds colourful and real-world detail and the X1 Ultimate Processor for a true cinematic experience and which will make almost everything appear as if it’s in 4K. I love our old Sony’s picture quality already and this sounds even more amazing.
    I am also intrigued by the Sony Acoustic Surface Audio…
    The sound is supposed to be a lot better than on previous models and it’ll make it seem like it’s coming from all over the screen instead of just out of a “tinny” little speaker.
    I think the Sony BRAVIA 55” 4K UHD HDR OLED Android Smart TV (XBR55A8H)
    sounds amazing.
    And maybe I won’t even need a sound bar…

    The size and voice control by Alexa would be a vast improvement over the 40 inch 2006 Sony TV that is currently going strong in my living room.

    SAMSUMG: The 8k resolution being the favorite factor here. Best resolution for price.

    SONY: As always with Sony is been a start in the sound department. Amazing sound from all models I’ve seen.

  27. LG’s 75” Nano99 with 8K technology looks incredible – again following the advice of Martin Renaud to get the latest technology, so 8K. The Nano Colour Pro technology will give the most natural, life like realistic video – a game changer.

  29. I’d like to jump to Samsung’s 8K TV (provided there’s content :), and the QN55Q900RBFXZC is a little more in line with a possible budget.

  31. For Samsung I’d go for the 85” Q950T. With its ability to upscale both 4K and HD content m, using machine learning and artificial intelligence, you’d know you were getting the very best picture today’s technology can give you, irrespective of the source.

  32. I have been a Sony man for over 2 decades and I wouldn’t change now. Every Sony television I have bought has exceeded expectations and shelf life because it was future-proofed and built incredibly solid so they never break (even if I wanted it to so I could buy a new model Sony! Had to wait it out!). For me, the picture for Sony at the price point has always been the biggest draw but I’m very interested to see and try the new ASA…Acoustic Surface Audio. It’s more like how IMAX theatres work so it’s both intriguing and exciting! My favourite model from the Best Buy website would be the XBR98Z9G – 98″ at 8K (future proofing again). I measured the wall…it will fit…my wife will never allow it but…it will fit! LOL!

  36. In the Sony lineup, the TRILUMINOS looks incredible. Given the space in our family room I’d go for the 85” ZG9 since it has 8K (and Martin Renaud advises getting the most up to date technology you can)
