The BenQ GP500 smart projector is your one-stop shop for building an awesome home theatre. It can be really intimidating to build your own home theatre setup from scratch—you have to find the right TV, the right audio system, and even the right streaming service package for your unique space. But with this projector, everything is taken care of for you! Read on to find out what makes it a great choice and enter for a chance to win it.
Your all-in-one home theatre solution
I know there are plenty of people, including myself, who want that snazzy home theatre space with a comfortable couch that they can enjoy with their friends and family. But if building your own setup feels too overwhelming or like too much of an investment, the BenQ GP500 projector is your answer. It’s everything you need for an amazing home theatre experience!
One of the great things about this BenQ projector (and there are many) is how versatile it is. In addition to the strong built-in speakers, it has audio ports both for headphone listening and for connecting to your own audio system as well as inputs for your own streaming stick. Also, its lightweight and relatively small build mean you can take it with you to a friend’s or set it up outdoors. This basically means that your home theatre experience isn’t limited to your home and you can listen to 360 degree audio any where you want!
No matter where you set up the GP500, BenQ has got you covered. All you have to do is position the projector where you’d like and the camera at its front will help to auto focus and adjust the image position automatically. It’s designed to cause minimum hassle so you can get to enjoying your media almost immediately—perfect for a work-shy consumer like me.
Noteworthy tech takes it up a notch or three
The BenQ GP500 projector projects a 4K high resolution image between 40 to 200 inches, so even if you have a smaller projection surface available, you can still watch your media, or play casual games, in high-def. While 4K projectors are becoming more common these days, what really makes this projector shine are three cool features.
1. 2D auto keystone
2D auto keystone means this projector can automatically correct distortion in the image along its X and Y axes. Basically, this is how the projector ensures that your image is not skewed and is able to zoom in/out to the display size that you want without losing clarity. The best part is that you can even set up the projector at the side of the room and it will still project as if it was placed straight in front of the screen.
2. 360-degree soundscape
In the English review of the BenQ GP500, Jason, our resident audio expert, raved about the audio capabilities of this projector. Even if you place it in a non-central location, with a few adjustments the projector is able to centralize the audio so that sound envelopes you and perfectly syncs to visuals to give you the most immersive media experience possible.
3. 3D support
Do you have 3D media on Blu-ray that you can’t really enjoy on your TV? Well, here again, the GP500 has got you covered. It is able to process 3D files and if you have compatible 3D glasses, you can watch three dimensional content from your home! Perhaps you don’t have much use for this feature today, but as 3D becomes more accessible through technology like this, there will be more 3D media to enjoy and your BenQ projector will be future-proofed for it!

Starting with the entire Harry Potter series, we would then move on to classics like Lord of the Rings, Avatar 1 and 2, and of course, the iconic Star Wars and Star Trek franchises. The immersive visuals and high-quality projection of the BenQ GP500 would make for a truly memorable viewing experience.
