Bose has developed quite the reputation for itself. In only 50 short years since its launch, the Bose brand has become both a leader in the consumer electronics pack and synonymous with superior sound quality. But being a leader isn’t always enough for Bose. Nope, to stay on top of their game they often best even themselves, which is apparent when you look at the latest addition to their headphone product lineup, the Bose QuietComfort 25 Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones.

So, what do I mean by the fact that Bose “bested” themselves? Well, the reality is that Bose already has a stellar lineup of noise cancelling headphones that would make easy work out of even the worst of situations – like an 8-hour flight that comes complete with a whiney toddler, a teething baby, a loud talker, and a chronic cougher. In fact, their existing QC15 model has been called “an icon of the genre.”

An icon, perhaps, but the QC25 takes things to a whole new level. Here’s how:

  1. Noise Cancelling
Said to cancel noise better than any of its predecessors, the new QC25 employs Active Noise Cancelling technology that actually monitors, measures, and analyzes the noise around you, and then matches the sound with a polar opposite signal to actively cancel it out so you can focus on what you really want to hear.
  2. Clear, Rich, Sound
No surprise here, but the QC25 give you a crisp, powerful sound, no matter what it is you choose to listen to. Whether it be Norah Jones, Taylor Swift, or U2, Bose’s latest proprietary Bose Active WQ TriPort® technology provides full-range acoustics that are clear and powerful, giving the music you love deep and rich sound.
  3. Comfort
If you’ve worn over-ear headphones for any length of time, you know that they tend to get uncomfortable after about hour four. However, the Bose QC25 is built with super soft ear cushions (soft touch TPE bumpers) for a comfy around-ear fit. They are also designed to be easy to take with you no matter where you are. The earcups fold in on themselves so they fit in a small carrying case that’s ideal to throw in your purse, backpack, jacket pocket, or carry-on tote.
  4. Bose-QC25-2.jpgConvenience
A very important feature of headphones these days is whether or not they come equipped with an inline remote and/or microphone. I’m happy to say that the QC25 doesn’t disappoint. With the inline remote/mic you can take or make calls with your iOS device, and select other smartphones.
  5. Battery Life
Similar to its predecessor, the QC15, the QC25 is powered by a single AAA battery that delivers up to 35 hours of use – that’s a whole lot of horrendous flights folks! But that’s not all … with the QC25 if the battery dies, the music plays on. Crazy, but true.
  6. Design
Staying true to the Bose brand, the design of the new QC25 is slick and sleek. They don’t come equipped with any needless, extraneous bells and whistles, but are designed in a simple, neo-classic look that suits even the most discerning of tastes.
