Jabra Elite 85h Noise Cancelling headphonesWhether you’re on the bus or in the office, one of the greatest pleasures can be to tune out the world around you, and a pair of effective noise-cancelling headphones are just the tool for helping you create your little universe as you go about the day. Jabra has released their Elite 85h headphones, and we have a few to give away to our lucky readers who want superior ANC headphones. Find out below how you could win your very own pair.

Tune out and tune in with Jabra Elite 85h headphones

The face of someone enjoying a Britney Spears cover through Jabra Elite 85h headphones

I work in a busy office with a lot of people. As much as I love the high-energy environment, there are times when I need to filter out the ambient noise so I can focus on my work.

But up until recently I had a very basic pair of on-ear headphones. They were wired, used a battery for noise-cancelling, and their ear cushions caused sore ears after an hour or two. And though noise-cancelling makes me productive in terms of output, it also tends to make me a little unaware of my surroundings.

Right now is one of those focus times, actually; I’m sitting at my desk listening to a rather good cover of “…Baby One More Time” while wearing my new Jabra Elite 85h headphones (see right).  And let me tell you, these things are great.

Jabra Elite 85h: headphones packed with features

I’m finding that my headphone problems have ceased with the Jabra Elite 95h headphones. Active Noise Cancelling does just what you’d imagine, but they are also equipped with HearThrough technology which dulls background noise to a level that leaves you adequately aware of your surroundings. I can also let the headphones do the work with SmartSound which detects my surroundings and ambient noise levels. This means people can get my attention without tapping my shoulder or awkwardly waving their hand in my face.

The other thing I’m loving is the on-ear detection. I hate missing parts of songs and  because these headphones detect when they’re on and off your ears, I don’t have to fumble to pause my music when a coworker comes by. And if I wear them out of the office, they are rain-resistant, so they are totally commute friendly.

But don’t take it from me, see what Jacob McCourt had to say in his review. He discusses the style, controls, and sound of these headphones in depth.

ANC Headphones you want and need

Ok, so now you want a pair of your own Jabra Elite 85h headphones, don’t you? I can’t say I blame you; they are high quality headphones with a lot of cool features, and their noise-cancelling options are a game-changer for anyone that likes to use their headphones in a variety of environments.

  1. Alrighty, unintentionally winning the award for weirdness… I have a small-ish senior canine lady (shhh, she doesn’t seem to know she’s a dog) who has a fear of hearing digital sound. Music, youtube, speakerphone, you name it – she skitters off. These headphones would be perfect. I could hear everything else AND enjoy videos, music, and the like (Kate, did you just edit the unnecessary extra comma in there? *chuckle*) all with my girl by my side. Plus, you mentioned the comfort… yes, pleeeease. I think the feature of detecting when you take them off / auto pause is ingenious. The only other thing she hears so well is the dog cookie box and that has the opposite effect – she skitters in. Interesting – TV has zero effect.

Oh, and thanks… I am now wrestling “Hit Me Baby One More Time” for brain RAM as we speak. Err, type/read. * smile * I know, I know Kate, I can hear you now: “You’re Welcome.”

  2. I love to lay out in the sun with a cold drink and listen to my music. This would block out the kids and let me relax.

  3. I could wear these so I can listen to music and podcasts on my computer and not be distracted by the traffic outside.

  4. Would wear them while doing housework. Could listen to my music as loud as I like without disturbing the neighbours.

  5. This would help with two main things 1. my commute as the noise and conversations are pretty annoying at times. and 2. my workouts! I have been in the market for a new pair of headphones for working out recently and winning these would easily solve that issue! thanks for the chance to win amazing prize!

  6. Working! I listen to music all day at work, and it would be great to be able to block out other noise at the same time 🙂

  7. These will help me nap lol. I live in a noisy noisy house, so I definitely could use some noise cancelling headphones!

  8. Listening to music and attending meetings with these would be nice while commuting for sure!

  9. I would definitely use these when studying in a public space on my University campus! I get distracted super easily so these would allow me to focus on the task at hand.

  10. commute on the bus to work for sure.
always looking on how to make it much much better 😀
