How easy is to use an Osmo Mobile smartphone stabilizer?

The Osmo Mobile smartphone stabilizer series are known for their ease of set up and for providing an inexpensive, easy to use way to shoot professional looking videos with just your smartphone. You know the problem we all have with phone videos: they are jittery, lose focus of the subject, etc. Capturing steady always-on-point videos by holding a phone in your hand is not easy. Mount the phone in an Osmo and suddenly a whole world of videography opens up. The gimble and software can keep the subject in the center of the field of view no matter if your hand is shaking or bouncing around. Imagine you are filming a lightning storm from a moving car on a bumpy road; with your smartphone in an Osmo Mobile the image is perfectly stable. It really does all the work; you just hold it in your hand and decide what to shoot.

I am writing this article before the Osmo Mobile 4 launches, so I don’t know what incredible features it will have. I did send one to reviewers for an in-depth article about it; but, the reviews aren’t ready yet (I’ll add a link here as soon as the review goes live). You, however, are reading this contest article just after the launch. So, the first thing you need to do is to go to the product page that also just went live and read about the features of the new Osmo Mobile 4, then come back here and enter the contest.

  2. So many great features. I would love this feature “DJI ActiveTrack 3.0 technology helps keep specific subjects centred and in focus while they’re in motion”. I have so many problems with my cell and my grandkids have a hard time standing still when I try to take a picture. They are always trying to make silly poses.

    This is another great feature “Quick Roll lets you transition from landscape to portrait mode in an instant”, to get both my little rascals in a photo at the same time doing there silly poses, sometimes well away from each other. They are 6 and 8 and switching landscapes this easy would be amazing.

  3. I like the fact that it has a magnetic quick mount and that it’s foldable which will make it easily portable.

  5. ActiveTrack 3.0 and Magnetic Quick mount, filming the kids doing their thing these two would be essential.

  6. The magnetic mount and I love that it connects to your phone with Bluetooth instead of a wired connection.

  12. Love to try the Dynamic Zoom feature and Gesture Control, but the best part of this gimbal is the battery life compared to previous Dji Osmo’s.

  23. Having not owned any sort of stabilizing system for video capture on my phone, I would love to try ALL the features! lol but if I had to choose 2, I’d say the ActiveTrack and Gesture Control features.

  24. The smooth ergonomic grip will make extended clips comfortablke and DJI ActiveTrack 3.0 technology helps keep specific subjects centred and in focus.

  25. The Gesture Controls and Dynamic zoom are two of the coolest features. I have the osmo mini, but really found the connection between my iPhone and the device clunky. This is totally like a mini steady!!

  31. That pano feature looks pretty slick! Not to mention that snazzy magnetic clip that doubles as a cell phone stand. Too cool.

    Will definitely help me get some good footage for the new website I’m building!

  38. Quick mount and 15 hour charge are the features that first caught my eye. The Dynamic zoom and quick roll look awesome.
