How easy is to use an Osmo Mobile smartphone stabilizer?

The Osmo Mobile smartphone stabilizer series are known for their ease of set up and for providing an inexpensive, easy to use way to shoot professional looking videos with just your smartphone. You know the problem we all have with phone videos: they are jittery, lose focus of the subject, etc. Capturing steady always-on-point videos by holding a phone in your hand is not easy. Mount the phone in an Osmo and suddenly a whole world of videography opens up. The gimble and software can keep the subject in the center of the field of view no matter if your hand is shaking or bouncing around. Imagine you are filming a lightning storm from a moving car on a bumpy road; with your smartphone in an Osmo Mobile the image is perfectly stable. It really does all the work; you just hold it in your hand and decide what to shoot.

I am writing this article before the Osmo Mobile 4 launches, so I don’t know what incredible features it will have. I did send one to reviewers for an in-depth article about it; but, the reviews aren’t ready yet (I’ll add a link here as soon as the review goes live). You, however, are reading this contest article just after the launch. So, the first thing you need to do is to go to the product page that also just went live and read about the features of the new Osmo Mobile 4, then come back here and enter the contest.

  7. I started vlogging for a while and I quickly realized I need better stabilization so I have bought the DJI Osmo 3. Although it improved the quality of the channel a lot, there are still a few issues that the new version would solve for me.
    The first is the magnetism (the quick pick-up option). I think maybe in everyday use, this will perhaps be one of the most important developments because there are a lot of situations that you can easily miss while assembling the gimbal.
    The second is the stronger motor. Due to the vlog I have to use an external microphone when I am talking to the camera. Unfortunately, sometimes the mic cable is killing the motor. I originally have a pretty heavy phone that almost reaches the upper weight limit and with the mic cable weight, sometimes there is too much for the gimbal.
    sometimes that is too much for the gimbal.
    In summary, I want to win because I could produce even more valuable content for viewers in the future.

  9. I definitely need this for its ActiveTrack 3.0 and dynamic zoom. So many other features I would love as well like auto panoramic photos, and the magnetic mount makes it a whole new level of convenience. It’s so hard to choose!

      2.) Magnetic quick mount

  32. ActiveTrac Would used a lot by me it is something I am looking forward to if I could get one. Also the software alone after seeing the reviews looks amazing. Slow Motion and edit videos right from your phone . DJI has out done it with this and it would make a great addition to anyone who shoots videos like me. I have the mavic mini and DJI has not let me down one bit.

    My phone is a little bit to awkward for the clamps on the DJI 3 I think this would be a awesome substitution!

  39. The Osmo Mobile 4 looks awesome and my daughter would go crazy to own one! The features I love most are the Gesture controls and the DynamicZoom. Did I say this is awesome!!

    • This pandemic has really hit me hard.I am an aspiring vlogger and the DJI Osmo 4 would me an amazing addition to help me make better content with its Dynamic zoom and DJI active track 3.0 technology. I would be so grateful, if I win the DJI Osmo 4.

  43. I think that the magnetic mount would make setting up the OM 4 much faster than other versions, and activetrack is pretty cool too!

  45. I’d love to try the software features like the zoom effects (where the background gets “pulled”). I’m also super interested in testing out the smartphone clamp! Looks like a great quick way to start recording on the go.
