Defender has a long tradition of making high quality home security cameras that are affordable for home owners. I recently tested two Defender systems on the Best Buy Blog and was impressed with the ease of setup and the high-quality video captured by these devices. Defender just released a new camera at Best Buy, the Defender Guard Indoor/Outdoor IP Camera, and we have two to give away in this contest.
Defender security cameras deliver great value for homeowners
As Editor-in-Chief on the blog, I get many of the main brands of security cameras on my desk and have tested most of them myself. I have to say that Best Buy does have a great selection of home security cameras, and the Defender brand is right up there with the best for how easy they are to set up and use, and how great the image quality is.
I have reviewed two different types of Defender systems on the blog. One of these was a wired system with four 4k cameras that all connected to a DVR. I pointed out scenarios where this type of system might be a homeowner’s best bet for great security. I also showed the steps for setting it up and getting the most from that system.
The second Defender system that I reviewed was a 2k wireless outdoor camera. That camera is easier to install than a wired system, as it sends the video stream over the internet. It shares a very key feature with the other system that I reviewed though: it does not require any additional fees for cloud storage (something many other camera systems do require). That means once you pay for the camera, you do not have to pay for anything else to use the camera and get maximum security benefits (you do need home internet, but I’m assuming most people have that these days).
New Defender Guard Camera will be perfect for most homeowners
As I said at the beginning, Defender just released a new camera at Best Buy. The Defender Guard Wireless 2K Camera shares many of the features with the 2k camera that I recently reviewed. It too has on-camera storage via a 16GB microSD card (expandable to 128GB). It has the same great video quality that I described in my review too, with incredible 16x zoom and crystal clear night vision. The camera will even record the voices and sounds of people being recorded. Crystal clear video and audio will be great tools to help identify who was on your property, or what animal knocked over the garbage bins—animal issues are a big concern around my home!
Check out the information section on the product page to learn about some of its other great features, like a wide field of view, IP67 ratings providing resistance to all forms of weather, etc.
What are your security concerns that could be addressed with a Defender security camera? Enter this contest and you may soon be able to take care of them if you win one of these prizes. And if you don’t win, well, Defender cameras are reasonably priced, and once you buy one, you will not be paying any additional fees for video storage.
How to enter
Entering this contest is really easy, but you can only enter once. In a comment below, tell us what security concerns around your home you would like to address if you win a Defender camera in this contest.

Good Luck.Â
Just for peace of mind.
There have been a few car break-ins in my neighborhood, well all over the city. Probably a group just going area by area and cycling back around a few months later. Would love to have a camera to keep an eye on my driveway.
Our neighbourhood has gone from quiet and secure because everyone knows their neighbours and is on the lookout for unusual activity, to a place where security cameras are a necessity as the population is constantly changing and on the move.
watch my cars
I would like to keep an eye on the driveway/front porch.
With a shared driveway, it would be great to know who’s in my backyard especially when I’m expecting a delivery and can’t be there to receive it personally.
We travel a lot and would love to be able to check the house while we’re gone.
being able to see who approaches our house, also it would help us feel a bit more safe and protected!

We’ve had our back shed broken into a few times, I would like to catch the people who do it!
Perfect. Been thinking about purchasing one of these!!
The sides of my house are the worst for blind spots. Because there are no windows and very little lighting, we cannot see much of what is going on. It is a definite security risk and concern for me and my family

On the deck at the back of our house

I think living in Toronto these days everyone needs security cameras
out on the country roads, i feel vulnerable
need this, too bad this is a sign of the times
I need security in my front yard as I have a large hedge that blocks a view from intruders.
We always have people checking for unlocked car doors in our neighborhood…if you forget they toss the whole vehicle.
I would also put the second one on the detached garage as we have people the are scoping out those areas as well !
Would be great to monitor front door and garage, too much property crime lately
love it perfect to many creeps in town
We are seniors and have had people knocking at our front and back doors in the early morning and getting into our sheds, so this would help us sleep more every night.
It would be great to monitor what wildlife is in the area in the evening.
Raccoons!!!! I need to keep on eye on those nocturnal rodents!
I live on a quiet street, this would be great to monitor my house..
