It has literally taken me ten years to get my apartment looking just the way I once wanted it to look. Unfortunately, my style has changed in those ten years, so if I could, I would replace everything I own. Sadly, the bank account says that’s not an option. What is an option though, is for me to add update a few accents to keep my space looking fresh and new.
So whether you love your existing home décor and just want to freshen it up for the season, or are like me and would love to overhaul everything but it’s simply not in the cards, here are three simple and quick ways you can freshen up your space any time of the year.
Add Picture Frames, or Replace the Pictures in Them
I’m a big fan of displaying my most treasured memories in picture frames on walls and various surfaces throughout my apartment. Doing so is a simple way to add interest and an element of personality in any home, no matter the size. I especially love to mix up the kind of frames I use, and think contrasts between wooden and glass frames, or black and white frames add a certain level of interest in your décor.
If you already have a lot of frames in your home, consider updating the photographs within them to freshen up your space. You could select a theme, like “travel” and update all your photos in a given room to some of your most recent adventures. Or perhaps you decide on a black and white theme and have some of your favourite memories re-printed in monotone. Regardless, frames and the prints within them are an easy way to update your space.
Augment your living room furniture with an ottoman
In my opinion, ottomans’ are the bee’s knees when it comes to living room furniture. They are an easy way to update your décor, while also adding an element of practicality. I mean, let’s be honest … who likes to watch TV without their feet up on something? No one I know! Update your bedding

Replacing or switching out your duvet cover to a new pattern or colour is so easy to do, doesn’t put a huge dent in your bank account, and really freshens up your space with very little effort.
