Dyson is well known for vacuum cleaners, fans, and air purifiers, and when you see the name Dyson you know that the product is going to be well designed, ultra-efficient, and full of features you’ll use every day. Given that dedication to innovation, it’s no surprise that the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer is more than just a hair dryer: according to Dyson, it’s a thermistor-controlled, high-velocity, precision-engineered hair care tool. Yes, it does sound amazing, and the best part is you can try one yourself if you enter and win this contest to bring home the latest Dyson Supersonic!

Dyson Supersonic takes hair care to the next level

The first hair dryer was invented in 1890 and it was a massive, seated contraption and it would be about 25 years until the first handheld hair dryers were available. Since then, the hair dryer has thankfully become more powerful, easier to use, and more portable, but it has seen little change in its form and concept. Now Dyson has switched things up.

The Dyson Supersonic rethinks the whole form of the hair dryer. It was designed with technologies that protect your hair from further damage due to styling. Once you try it you’ll immediately realize just how different this hair care product really is.

A V9 digital motor with intelligent heat control

When you use a regular blow dryer you have to open yourself to the possibility of heat damage. Although it dries your hair, the trade off is that it takes away that natural shine you’d get if you didn’t use one at all.

With the Dyson Supersonic, you get access to intelligent heat control. It uses a thermistor with 1600 watts of power, and it measures the air temperature 20 times per second so it never sends out a blast of extreme heat. Monitoring the temperature protects your hair, and when you protect it from heat, your natural shine comes through.

Personalized styling options

Some powerful hair dryers blow your hair every which way, resulting in a rather frizzy hairdo. That’s not the case with the Dyson Supersonic. The Dyson Supersonic balances power and force by focusing a blast of air on your hair one section at a time, letting you keep it smooth without disturbing the other sections. It also sends negative ions in the air to reduce static, so your hair is flyaway free.

Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer

Blog Editor of Home and Appliances Shelley, used the Dyson Supersonic on her thick head of hair, and she was very impressed. Her hair dresser told her that they key to smooth hair is to keep it from flying all over while drying. That is easily done with the Dyson—it dries one section of hair at a time. Shelly found she could actually achieve shine! She also noticed that her hair would style better too after drying with the Dyson; her flat iron worked even better than it did before.

The Dyson Supersonic has four different heat settings and three speed settings so you can customize your drying to suit your head of hair perfectly. There’s even a cool shot button to release a stream of cool air. Even the included attachments are unique; they connect to the hair dryer via magnets so you can just pop them off and on as needed.

Quiet and well balanced

With the motor in the handle, the Dyson Supersonic is easy to hold and use. Unlike a traditional hair dryer, the weight is in the handle, not the barrel, creating a balanced tool that will cause less fatigue as you dry your tresses.

It’s also acoustically tuned and has vibration reduction so it runs quietly. For safety, there’s a removable air filter to prevent dust clogs and a safety thermostat so you know it will never over heat.

HOW TO ENTER

It’s easy to enter this contest, but you can only enter once. In a comment below this post, tell us what specific feature most excites you about the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. Personally, I love that it has 4 precise heat settings and that the motor has been moved to the handle for better weight distribution.

At the end of the contest we will randomly select two (2) winners from all eligible entries, and these two winners will each receive one Dyson Supersonic hair dryer.

The contest runs from September 11 to September 25, 2018

  1. I love all Dyson products, so innovative. The feature I love most on the hair dryer is the intelligent heat control. I’ve actually had my hair badly damaged by too much heat.

  2. I love how quiet it is, because my roommate’s hair dryer wakes me up every morning with how loud it is. So I’d surprise and delight her by giving this to her!

  3. I like that it has different styling options and heat settings since my hair has been really damaged from colour treatments!

  4. I love that it is quiet! so nice with baby girl is sleeping but i want to do my hair. Also love the 4 different settings. too cool

  6. This is one neat little hair dryer! I like that it has 4 precise heat settings too! All of my family members have different hair thickness.

  7. I think my wife would like the four different heat settings. She doesn’t use a dryer a lot because she complains it’s too hot

  8. I think Dyson Supersonic stands out apart from other hairdryers on the market because of the intelligent heat control which regulates temperature and prevents heat damage to the hair. Air temperature is measured 20 times per second and reported directly to the digital motor’s microprocessor. This will give me peace of mind knowing I can use it daily without damaging my hair.

  9. Dyson’s Air Multiplier technology draws air into the motor and amplifies its volume. This means I can blow dry my hair in nearly half the time without damaging it.

I love that it has 4 precise heat settings and that the motor has been moved to the handle for better weight distribution, very important to someone that spends 90% of my work day with my dryer in my hand. The heat control is also an amazing feature as protecting hair from heat is always a struggle with a regular hair dryer. As well as the negative ions to reduce air static is a win win for everyone!

  13. This: “It also sends negative ions in the air to reduce static, so your hair is flyaway free” is what I would get this dryer for.

  14. The personalized style options is the greatest! Love that it reduces static and fly aways. That’s such a great feature to have! Would love to try it out
