Vacuuming your floors is so easy when you have a stick vacuum cleaner. Cordless stick vacuum cleaners will go places a wired vacuum can’t go, and the latest models have such strong suction and great features you’ll wonder how you ever lived without one. That’s what I’ve been asking myself after testing out the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX and Tineco Pure One S11 Tango cordless stick vacuums. How did I clean without a vacuum like this?
If you want to cruise over every surface in your home and have your vacuum automatically sense how dirty your floors are, kicking up the suction to match the task, you can do that with the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX and Tineco Pure One S11 Tango. They both have iLoop smart-sensor technology to detect dirt and adjust the suction to pick up every speck.
That’s not the only feature that makes both the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX and Tineco Pure One S11 Tango two of the best vacuums I’ve ever used. Take a look at my review and you’ll see why these battery-operated stick vacuums are all you’ll need for clean floors.
Appearance and features of the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX and Tineco Pure One S11 Tango
The Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX is the top of the line for Tineco, and it has a 450W motor with up to 120W of suction power. It’s lightweight, weighing only 5.36 kg. The Tineco Pure One S11 Tango shares many of the same features as the S12, with a 450W motor and up to 130W of suction power. It weighs 3.58 kg.
Both vacuums have the following features:
- iLoop smart-sensor technology will sense hidden dirt and debris, automatically adjusting suction power to extend your run time for up to 50 minutes in the S12 and 40 minutes in the S11
- On the S12 Pro EX, you can slide your finger up and down the touch bar to automatically adjust your suction
- Both include two power brushes; an LED hard floor soft-roller and a high-torque LED multi-tasker power brush for carpets and floor
- Continuous power mode switch lock keeps the power on without you having to hold the switch
- Automatic pre-filter cleaning tool keeps suction strong
- Wi-Fi built-in and connects to Tineco app so you can monitor your cleaning time, get notifications if your filter is plugged, and get monthly maintenance updates
- Four-stage HEPA filter eliminates 99.97% of allergens
- Attachments included mini power brush, automatic pre-filter cleaning tool, soft dusting brush, crevice tool, and more
The Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX has 2 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries included while the Tineco Pure One S11 Tango has one. The Tineco Pure One S12 also has a colour LED display to give you updates on dirt levels, battery levels, Wi-Fi status, and maintenance reminders.
Testing out the Tineco Pure One S11 Tango and Pure One S12 Pro EX
Both the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX and Tineco Pure One S11 Tango are really great vacuums. They both have powerful, non-stop suction, smart features, and are really lightweight and easy to use. In the weeks I was cleaning with both vacuums, I didn’t experience any lag in power or excess filter and hose blocks. They cleaned my house from top to bottom without downtime unless it was to charge the battery.
If you had these two vacuums side by side and you were vacuuming the carpet or the floor, you wouldn’t notice a huge difference between one or the other. They will stream through a pile of dirt or debris and pick it up with no issue at all.
iLoop Sensor Technology
Both the S12 Pro EX and the S11 Tango have iLoop Sensor Technology on board. That means they will actually sense how dirty the floor is in front of them and kick the suction up to handle the task. It’s an impressive feature to read about, but it’s even more impressive in action.
The colour LED circle surrounding the screen will move from blue to red when the suction turns up, and both vacuums were smart enough to sense, within split seconds, a change in the cleanliness of the floor. I have to admit, I was pretty shocked by how well it worked. That feature alone made cleaning the floor effortless.
Slide to adjust suction
The Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX has one unique feature the S11 Tango doesn’t have. You can slide your finger up and down a touch bar to adjust your suction. Even with iLoop on board I still loved using that feature. I made good use of it when using the vacuum as a handheld. It really cleans up the car quickly, although adjusting the scale to max suction will drain the battery a lot faster.
Instead of a slide bar, the Tineco Pure One S11 Tango has a button you can tap to take you from Auto to Max mode. It’s easy to tap if you want to be in Max mode for max suction, and it will turn off when you release the trigger.
LED lights on power brushes
Both vacuums include two power brushes; one LED hard floor soft-roller and one high-torque LED multi-tasker power brush for carpets and floor. I used the high-torque power brush for everything because I have small carpets by my doors, but if I had just hard flooring I would definitely use the soft roller brush more often.
Both brushes have LED lights built-in, and that’s a great feature because you can see what you’re cleaning when you’re rolling under furniture and in dark corners.
Continuous power mode
All Tineco vacuums I’ve tested have a continuous power mode lock. I keep calling it a ‘trigger lock’ because you pull the trigger and slide the lock over it to keep it running without you having to hold on. It’s a great feature, and I found it very helpful when I was using the stick to reach up into the rafters of my kitchen to suck up dust bunnies.
Wi-Fi connection and app
The colour screens on the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX and Tineco Pure One S11 Tango have built-in Wi-Fi and will connect to the Tineco app. To use Wi-Fi you have to remove the dust canister and press down on the Wi-Fi button. The vacuum will connect to internal Wi-Fi, and then connect to your home’s network. Just keep in mind it will only connect to a 2.4Ghz band.
Once you are connected your Tineco vacuum will let you know via the app how long you’ve been cleaning, whether your filter needs to be cleaned out, and any maintenance you need to perform. I didn’t think using the app would be a game-changer, but it’s pretty cool getting the notification if your filter is 90% full or seeing that your home has an 88.85K average dust amount. I’m not sure what that means, but I’m really glad I had these vacuums to assist me in the cleanup.
4-stage HEPA filter
While strong suction, a good-sized dust bin, and long-lasting battery are all reasons to choose one of these vacuums, if you have allergies or pets, the 4-stage HEPA filter will be one of the best features for you.
The HEPA filter on both the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX and Tineco Pure One S11 Tango will remove up to 99.97% of allergens as small as 0.3 microns. Imagine the dander, dust, and other particles this vacuum will pick up, and all it expels is clean fresh air.
Speaking of expelling air, I noticed the Tineco Pure One S11 Tango has a very strong stream of air expelled from the top vent. It was noticeably strong, while the air expelled on the S12 Pro Ex was not.
Wall mount and battery charging
You can hang the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX and Tineco Pure One S11 Tango on the wall and use the wall mount for all of the attachments they have. The charger threads through the mount so you can store it on the wall and charge it at the same time.
I love wall mounts for stick vacuum cleaners. They keep everything accessible and your vacuum is always fully charged.
Should you choose the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX or Pure One S11 Tango?
The bottom line on these two vacuums: I think you’d be really happy with either of them. The Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX is lightweight, has very strong suction, and the slide bar to adjust suction is a great feature. I also like the addition of an extra battery in case you want to keep cleaning and your power runs out.
if you don’t mind skipping the slide bar and extra battery, the Tineco Pure One S11 Tango is a great choice too. The dust bin is roomy, the power lasts forever, and it’s easy to tap the button to switch from Auto to Max mode.
The colour LED screen on the S12 and the suction colour-changing indicator make using both vacuums very easy. You really do have to see iLoop Sensor Technology in action to understand how great it is that your vacuum automatically senses the dirt level in front of it and will show you how intense the suction is.
If I had to choose between the two I would choose the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX, and that would be mostly due to my love of the slide bar feature. Both vacuums will clean your whole home, car, and every nook and cranny. In my opinion, whichever one you choose, you win.
You can pick up the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX and Tineco Pure One S11 Tango on Best Buy right now.
My choice is the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EX is my choice with its lightweight feature and the slide bar.
The Pure One S12 is my choice. I like the 2 lithium batteries. The less expelled air would be more to my liking. 4 stage Hepa Filter means a lot since I have many allergies, dust being one of them.
I really enjoyed and appreciated your honest, detailed review(s) of Tineco’s® Pure One S12 Pro EX and S11 Cordless Stick Vacuums, Shelly! How ironic that I would stumble upon the review(s) today, having just moved into a new, small apartment, with wall-to-wall flooring!
Since moving-in two weeks ago: I’ve been sweeping, Swiffering, and mopping on a near-daily basis. I have a lot of (blonde) hair and a cat. Combined with daily, average dust and crumbs, I NEED to keep up with my clean habits! Otherwise, I’d slowly become certifiable when feeling the grime on my bare feet!
My place is small, newly renovated, fresh, contemporary, and has little storage. My upright vacuum is unnecessary and cumbersome to store. Really, it’s not that great for bare floors!
A small, powerful, sleek, and effective Tineco® Hero Pure One S11 would DEFINITELY make life in my new abode easier (and less wasteful, reducing the need to use disposable Swiffer cloths). I don’t need all of the fancy bells & whistles in such a small place, but its addition would certainly reduce time spent maintaining my super clean floors! (Love the fact there’s a HEPA filter, too. Me: asthmatic since the mid-70s!)
Cheers via Smithers, BC!

P.S. Domo Arigato, Vacuum Roboto!
Actually, I’d buy the S12 model because I like that there are 2 lithium batteries. It also has less expelled air which I think I prefer.
would take the Pure One S12 Pro because of it sensor and detecting
all the dirt.
I would choose the Tineco Pure One S12 Pro EXiLoop because it has smart-sensor technology to detect dirt and adjust the suction to pick up every speck. How amazing it does the work for me and makes my life easier and cleaner.
