Best Buy has toys that create memories today for nostalgia tomorrow. Because toys are more than just playthings; they are sources of endless fun for all ages, and for adults they are bridges to the past. From the moment we grasp our first teddy bear as a child to the many times we nostalgically look back at our favourite childhood playthings, toys are integral to life. Explore some of the newest toys at Best Buy today, that will build memories to last a lifetime, then enter to win one of twelve fantastic toy bundles.
Toys create memories: the foundation of who we are
From the moment we’re born, toys become a part of our world. They are companions, teachers, and sources of comfort. As children, we assign personalities to our toys, embark on imaginary adventures with them, and even confide our deepest secrets to our plush friends.
For me, the stories I created while playing with cars and figurines established a love of storytelling and a love of writing. Remember the toy car that sparked your interest in automobiles? Or the doll that was your inseparable friend during those long summer days? These toys are not just objects; they are the building blocks of our childhood memories. They remind us of simpler times, filled with wonder, curiosity, and unbridled joy. The memories they created helped shape what we can do, what we know about the world—helped shape the adults we have become.
Toy nostalgia is a bridge to bygone days
There is one great scene in the second Tim Allan Santa Clause movie where a boring staff Christmas party is transformed into a fantastic, memorable night for all (in the film and in the theatre watching the film) thanks to a sackful of nostalgic toys like Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots. There is no denying that toys can transport us back to our childhood, evoking a flood of emotions and memories. The scent of an old teddy bear, the familiar tune of a musical toy, or the worn-out pages of a childhood book can stir feelings of nostalgia. You’ll need to draw on some of those memories as you enter this contest.
The new toys that we are giving away in this contest will do for our children what toys did for us. They’ll help them learn about things, help them learn to socialize, etc. Many years from now, the toys you find at Best Buy today will evoke moments of nostalgia for our children. Here are the brands that provided toys for this year’s holiday toy contest. Learn about them, and click on the brand to see some of the best toys and games that 2023 has to offer.

The toy shock beauty play set reminds me of the barbie hairstyling head for practice stling and curling hair
The risk board game from Hasbro has been a family tradition since the late 1980’s. We have the original board game and when someone in our family would win they would sign their name and mark down the date. We have a board full of signature and dates going back to 1987…. Amazing fun !!!
Mouse Trap Board Game by Hasbro reminds me of those nights at the cottage playing with family and friends.
Stomp Rocket Rescue Racers (Web Code: 17080897) brings back memories of my souped up hot wheels racers.
We always had fun on board game night playing Hasbro’s Clue Board Game. Mystery and fun all rolled into one.
I love the Stomp Rocket, it reminded me of air launched rockets we had when I was a kid. These probably go a bit higher haha
The Hasbro games – Risk, Monopoly, Scrabble. Still play Scrabble to this day! Wonderful.

The 3D Doodler Pen Set looks like a modern version of Etch-A-Sketch
The new gel blaster remind me of my Nerf guns growing up.
I clicked on Hasbro and scrolled through the games. Yupp! connect 4 would have been a childhood memory for sure! Super simple to play and set up and relatively quick to win or lose. Great for younger kids on days when we weren’t allowed to go outside (being too sick was about the only reason in the 70-80’s).
Clicked on Hasbro and the very first game was Risk, I have such a love hate relationship with that game 8D, we still break it out every once in a while and is still a lot of fun.
3Doodler is just like the Etch-A-Sketch I had as a kid
Risk was one of my favorited board game when I was much younger. I used to play with my brother. It will be nice to play again with my kids.
The Hasbro Make It Real Friendship Bracelet Maker reminds me of a corking set I was given for my 5th or 6th birthday. I made these long “corked” yarn chains that I’d give to family members. They could be sewn together to become coasters or left long and made into key chains or simply book marks. Over 55 years later, I still have that corking set. 🙂 Thanks for the memories.
I shared on facebook as Nicole Graham https://www.facebook.com/nicole.graham.92505/posts/pfbid0nDVcBSEdoS98wSZJPHWUg23uNEdq2EdYyuKMEb9KJhBHNpy8375pXbB9G8frqjTGl
The Toy Shock Barbie kitchen set reminds me of a kitchen play set when I was a child. It wasn’t a Barbie one. It was blue, but I loved that thing and we had many tea parties with things “cooked” on that playset.
The 3D Doodler Pen Set looks like a great toy. I love it a lot. Kind of like when I was a kid.

The Game of Life brings back lots of memories! I probably played this 2108202304208074098 times in my childhood with my cousins and sisters. I always knew I wanted to be a Mom one day so I remember always feeling anxious if I would complete the Game of Life without having any kids! haha! Would love to play it now with my three kids!
Toy Shock Barbie Supermarket reminds me of my cash register scanner toy. That was such a hit with all of my friends. Hours of fun

3doodler reminds me of spirograph. I loved it. I could not seem to make the perfect pictures like in the booklet but it did keep me busy and out of my mother’s way for hours.
Gel blaster reminds me of the Christmas my brother gave each of the four kids nerf guns – each on different. It was a very noisy time. I feel for all the parents who will have these new toys given to their young – the kids will love it the parents will cring.
The 3D Doodler Pen Set reminds me of the Etch-a-Sketch that I spent endless hours on as a kid. It came everywhere with me. Kind of like kids and their tablets today.

It was fun playing board games because I had 8 siblings. Although coming from a big family we didn’t have many toys, we used our imagination more often then not. Board games were purchased most often because they could be enjoyed by the whole family.
