I have always loved Bulova watches … ever since I was a child. My dad had one, so that might have been the initial attraction. It just looked so nice on his wrist! Last year, I finally bought one for myself (pictured here). Of course I bought it from Best Buy. I checked a local jewelry store before buying; they had the exact same watch that I saw online at Best Buy, but it was a lot more expensive.

At the time I bought it, I had been wearing a fancy new smart watch. It was okay, and the smart functions were fun. However, charging it every night became a nuisance for me. Forgetting to charge it meant I did not have a watch for a day. Once I got my Bulova, I found it more convenient, and more stylish. It’s my everyday watch now.

Your dad will never grow out of a Bulova watch

There are some traditional Father’s Day gifts that just don’t work with most men in 2019. Take the traditional tie as one example. I used to wear ties. I still have dozens in my closet somewhere. However, I haven’t worn one in a long, long time. Perhaps at a wedding a couple years ago. As with many traditional gifts, the Father’s Day tie is nice, but not very useful anymore.   1. This is REALLY TOUGH but here goes;
    The Security Officer in me really likes the Bulova Marine Star 44mm analog sports watch in black; It’s the perfect work/sports time piece.

    But!! The NERD in me really likes the Bulova Maquina 21 jewel Automatic two tone watch, it screams traditional love for the art that is timekeeping and the embrace of the modern fashion world.

    HOWEVER!!! The dad in me craves to have the utility of appreciation for the craftsmanship of an automatic movement, the versatility to be worn with a suit and tie or a pair of docker chinos, loafers, and a v neck t-shirt on a casual Sunday afternoon with the family enjoying brunch over the lakeshore and still look refined and modern. The watch that checks all the right boxes for me would be the Bulova Open Heart Automatic watch #96A194 it’s screams haute couture yet I am a well grounded dad. It’s like the James Bond of the line up, it’s sophisticated yet modern and masculine. It kinda reminds me of Tom Ford…meets die hard. Yeah it’s that cool.
