Thinkware dash cam contest at Best buyThinkware dash cams make driving safer for everyone. For most of us, driving is the riskiest thing we do every day. There are few things we can do to protect our loved ones who must take to the roads, for short or long drives, commuting, or even just shopping. Properly maintained vehicles is a basic necessity. Thinkware dash cams provide “next level” protection. Enter this contest and you might win either a Thinkware Q1000 or Thinkware X800 dash cam.

Should all cars come standard with a Thinkware dash cam

Seatbelts were legislated in Canada all the way back in the 1970s. Wearing a seatbelt is so commonplace, many of us can’t imagine driving without using one. Similarly, back up cameras are found in most vehicles now and not having one seems, well, just wrong. Both seatbelts and backup cameras met with resistance upon their introduction. Many people just didn’t want to put on a seatbelt. Similarly, some people felt that a back up camera was simply a crutch, ensuring that drivers didn’t learn proper technique when backing up. Yet here we are, in a better place with both technologies in use for the betterment of drivers everywhere. Driving is safer with seatbelt and backup camera tech.

I contend that dash cams are another tech that drivers and cars are safer with rather than without. And Thinkware dash cams come with a host of features to protect drivers and car owners. Once you have one, you don’t want to be without one again.

Thinkware dash cams do much more than just record the road ahead

In the movie “Next,” Nic Cage is able to protect people in danger with his gift to see a couple minutes into the future. A Thinkware dash cam is kind of doing that by capturing where your car will be in the near future. When things go wrong on the road, having that footage can make a huge difference in your life. It shows how other people reacted to a novel situation. Our memories are fallible; in moments of excitement our brains can mix up timelines, and even “remember” incorrectly. Dash cam evidence presented to the police or even to a judge (if a dispute gets that far) is indisputable.

There is a lot of information coming from a Thinkware dash cam and you can track it all in the app. This includes remote viewing of the cameras, GPS/speed detection, crash detection, impact detection while parked, and more. Imagine if your spouse is commuting to work … you can follow their progress and know if they get stopped for some reason. I was recently at a concert and my truck was broken into … I wish I had a dash cam to alert me!

  5. Just the regular dash camera with limited memory with maps Need better one to record in detail road footage for possible accidents and stupid drivers Q1000 Dash camera has a better field of vision to capture more of the image and greater detail

  6. I have an old dashcam in my car, but I’d like to get a new one with higher resolution, and wifi. A rear-facing camera would also be nice.

  7. If I have a dash cam in my car I think the important features to have would be clear detail in the recordings and that is works well . That it records any accidents that may happen . Also that it’s easy to install.

  11. I currently don’t have a dash cam but it would be perfect for winter driving. Roads are hazardous and it can record any mishaps that could happen.

  12. I don’t currently have one but I did at one point but it broke. I feel the best features of dash cams is how long they record for and how detailed the footage is.

  13. I do have a dash cam and it is one of the most important tools that I think all drivers should have. Should I win this I will gift it to my FIL as I think everyone should have one. I have caught so many wild incidents on the camera.

  14. I have a small dashcam for the front of my old car, but not one in the back. I think all dash cams should have both, and I think having the feature to send the footage to your phone is helpful (in case the card is broken in the crash).

  15. We do not have a dashcam in our car. It would come in handy since for some odd reason, many people in our neighborhood see stop signs as optional. If that attitude results in an accident that I am witness to, or unfortunately victim of, a dashcam would definitely help my case

  16. Our family cardoes not have a dash cam but I think continuous recording is useful to catch every unexpected moment like someone trying to pull a fast one. Thanks for the opportunity!

  17. I don’t have a dashcam. I’ve been told a common scam, a vehicle in front of you will back up into you, and claim they were rear ended. With a dashcam, you will win that one.

  18. 1- Hi, I don’t own one but I would really like to have one in my car in case there is an accident, I would have the proof of it. The feature I want the most is that it’s recording all, great proof for later.
2- This dash cam would benefit my life if I install one in your car because I would have proof in case of something happen and I can look on my phone APP.

  19. I don’t have one, but would love one! It would be great to see if there was an accident and film it.

  20. I don’t have one in my car, but I’ve seen certain dash cams have recording capabilities when the driver is away from the car. I think that’s useful to have considering the potential to help others and myself in litigation or insurance claims

  21. I don’t have a dash cam and the features I think that makes it an important tool for drivers are the ability to have poof when you get into an accident and you have the ability to show proof to your insurance company.

  22. I don’t have one installed in my car. I think dashcams help to fight insurance fraud by capturing staged accidents.

  23. We do have one and think it’s very important in case of accident especially if a person cuts you off and now you have proof that you were not driving to close that in fact they were wrong cutting in without enough space. The problem with ours is that it doesn’t have all the extra new features like the one above. It’s old and it just records the front. It does help with making an insurance claim

  24. I don’t have one in my truck but I think it would give me a better feeling of security knowing that recording is taking place to protect it. I like how the quality of the video is so good that it would allow you to see clearly if someone tampered with my truck.

  25. I currently don’t have one but would love one to be useful in case of an accident, great to go back and see what exactly happened.
