Thinkware dash cam contest at Best buyThinkware dash cams make driving safer for everyone. For most of us, driving is the riskiest thing we do every day. There are few things we can do to protect our loved ones who must take to the roads, for short or long drives, commuting, or even just shopping. Properly maintained vehicles is a basic necessity. Thinkware dash cams provide “next level” protection. Enter this contest and you might win either a Thinkware Q1000 or Thinkware X800 dash cam.

Should all cars come standard with a Thinkware dash cam

Seatbelts were legislated in Canada all the way back in the 1970s. Wearing a seatbelt is so commonplace, many of us can’t imagine driving without using one. Similarly, back up cameras are found in most vehicles now and not having one seems, well, just wrong. Both seatbelts and backup cameras met with resistance upon their introduction. Many people just didn’t want to put on a seatbelt. Similarly, some people felt that a back up camera was simply a crutch, ensuring that drivers didn’t learn proper technique when backing up. Yet here we are, in a better place with both technologies in use for the betterment of drivers everywhere. Driving is safer with seatbelt and backup camera tech.

I contend that dash cams are another tech that drivers and cars are safer with rather than without. And Thinkware dash cams come with a host of features to protect drivers and car owners. Once you have one, you don’t want to be without one again.

Thinkware dash cams do much more than just record the road ahead

In the movie “Next,” Nic Cage is able to protect people in danger with his gift to see a couple minutes into the future. A Thinkware dash cam is kind of doing that by capturing where your car will be in the near future. When things go wrong on the road, having that footage can make a huge difference in your life. It shows how other people reacted to a novel situation. Our memories are fallible; in moments of excitement our brains can mix up timelines, and even “remember” incorrectly. Dash cam evidence presented to the police or even to a judge (if a dispute gets that far) is indisputable.

There is a lot of information coming from a Thinkware dash cam and you can track it all in the app. This includes remote viewing of the cameras, GPS/speed detection, crash detection, impact detection while parked, and more. Imagine if your spouse is commuting to work … you can follow their progress and know if they get stopped for some reason. I was recently at a concert and my truck was broken into … I wish I had a dash cam to alert me!

  1. I don’t have a dash cam but I think high resolution pictures, ample storage space, and dual facing cameras are necessary dash cam features.

  2. I bought a dash cam but haven’t connected it yet. It will come in handy when idiots ding me in the parking lot so I can pursue an insurance clame against them or to record what actually happened during an accident.

  3. I do not have a dash cam. It would definitely help, if an accident occurs. Insurance will have easier time with footage.

  4. I do not have a car but they are very important. So important I am surprised they are not required by insurance companies like in other countries.

  5. Don’t have a dash cam but think it would be good to have evidence of other driver’s driving and any accidents that occur

  6. I don’t have a dash cam in my vehicle. All the information coming from the dash cam can be tracked in the app. I like that feature.

  7. I currently do not own a dash cam but always wanted one. Driving in the city to and from work every day, I always worry when people are driving so close behind me. I feel it would be a fantastic safety feature that would give me peace of mind should I ever need it. Praying I don’t get smucked. Having a dash cam I would feel like it’s my MacGyver.
I didn’t realize there’s night vision on it as well. Thank you for chance to win this. Wishing and hoping.

  8. My dashcam recently broke so this’d be perfect. I think having one is very useful in case of accidents – there might be no witnesses around, and even if there was, the dashcam is still very useful.

  9. I do have an older dashcam. It has a feature that will auto detect any kind of accident (supposedly) and lock the video so it can’t be recorded over….

  10. No dash cam currently but I think they are a great tool for accurate info and evidence in cases of accidents, break ins etc

  11. I don’t presently have a dash cam in my vehicle, but I think they can be of great benefit to document accidents for insurance purposes. I’d like to get one eventually

  12. I don’t have a dash cam but have been very thankful that other people did and caught a hit and run of my vehicle on their cam. Continuous recording is important to capture unexpected events.

  13. I do not have a dash cam. And still going to a concussion clinic for a previous accident, I would love a dash cam to be installed on my present car(the other was totalled)

  14. I don’ t have one but I know they’re great in case of accident, so you can show video to the police.

  18. I don’t have a dashcam, but I think it would be a good tool for general safety and information around accidents and possible crimes.

  19. Having the footage from a DashCam would certainly help with the details in case there was an accident. Recall is horrible, especially in stressful situations

  20. I don’t own dash cam yet but features that make them an important tool for drivers are high resolution recording (and frame rates), front and rear camera ability, and an app that is easy to use.

  21. I do not own a dash cam but features that make them an important tool for drivers are Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi connectivity, parking help, and low light recording ability.

  22. Not currently, but it would be great to have one. I think it would be very helpful with parallel parking, which I struggle with!

  23. No, I don’t have one. I think excellent night vision and high resolution are the most important features

  24. No dash cam here but night recording vision, built-in GPS, a parking mode, a road safety warning system and a speed camera alert are just some features drivers need.
