The fifth day of the 12 Days of Christmas is a great time to think about fun Lego gifts for the builders in your life. In this year’s new Lego sets there is a wide variety of new Star Wars, Harry Potter, and other additions, making it difficult to pick just one for the Christmas season.
In recent years many people have been picking up new hobbies, with Lego being one of the most fun and accessible options. Whether you prefer the Lego Botanical collection, the new Creator sets, or the classic Star Wars line, there are plenty of options for everyone who loves to build Lego.

Why choose Lego as a gift?
No matter someone’s age, I find Lego is a surefire way to bring joy into any holiday season. While it used to be known as a play toy for kids, these days Lego has branched out into the adult market with larger collectors sets or display pieces. I’ve even bought Lego for family members who had never even considered trying it before, only for them to ask for more this Christmas season.
The best part about Lego is the quality time it can provide you and your loved ones. Even if they prefer to do most of the work themselves, it’s always fun to provide a helping hand or even watch someone put the pieces together over time. When it’s done, you have a striking addition for your shelves or a fun playable toy to enjoy!
Lego Star Wars gifts for the Christmas season
With all the new media from games, movies, and TV shows, Star Wars is just as popular as ever. That’s why I’ve selected some of my favourite Lego Star Wars sets that are retiring within the next year. If you know a Star Wars fan, now is the perfect time to pick up these and other sets.
Boba Fett’s Starship
Whether you’re a fan of the new Mandalorian show or the old Star Wars movies, Boba Fett’s Starship is one of the most iconic spaceship designs out there. With its changeable orientation and collectible mini-figures, it doubles as a playset for younger audiences or a display piece for older fans. While it’s a little on the smaller side for this style of set, it’s still a great Christmas choice for any fans of the series.
Luke Skywalker (Red Five) Helmet
The Lego Star Wars helmet line is by far one of my personal favourites for display purposes. The modern style helps it fit into any room without feeling out of place. Designed to look great from afar while still retaining details, its nostalgic design looks amazing at this scale. I think the Luke Skywalker Helmet is a great addition to any Lego Star Wars fan’s home.
Lego Star Wars R2-D2
By far the biggest and most memorable set on this list is the Lego Star Wars R2-D2. Coming in at over 2,000 pieces, it’s an incredible display piece with just the right size to show all the details. The functionality of this set makes it a timeless addition to any Lego fan’s setup. This set even comes with a hidden compartment for Luke’s lightsaber that’s built to size.
Lego gifts for anyone in the family this Christmas season
While it’s hard to go wrong with Star Wars, not everyone is going to be a fan of the genre. That’s where the other Lego categories like the Lego Creator collection come in. Creator collection sets provide limitless potential for finding Christmas gifts because they have an ever-changing catalogue of unique builds.
Lego Botanical Collection
The Botanical Collection is one of my go-to choices when it comes to gift-giving for any event. This type of set is great for when you want to buy flowers that will last, and you get the bonus of enjoying quality building time together. The Bonsai Tree and Flower Bouquet are my personal recommendations from this collection and I think they make a memorable gift. Both times I’ve purchased these sets for loved ones the reaction was definitely worth it.
Back to the Future Time Machine
I’ll admit I was quite excited to see this set and the care put into its design. For any fans of the classic Back to the Future movies, it’s an incredibly easy choice for a gift. It’s not yet available at Best Buy, but it’s worth the mention because of the build quality. It has three different swappable designs all built into one, including unique pieces designed solely for this model. This set is one of my all-time favourite picks, and it’s one you should put on your must-buy lists for future builds.
