What is special about Persona 5

Person 5 is a role playing game set in Tokyo. You assume the character of a high school student: he and his friends, live double lives. As the rebellious Phantom Thieves of Hearts, the group of troubled youth spend part of their time using fantastic powers, to enter the hearts of corrupt people to basically destroy the evil and transform them. This series is wildly popular so you know that Persona 5 is going to be huge gaming hit in 2017.

Persona 5 PS4 Our gaming writer, Paul Hunter, received an advance copy of Persona 5 and quickly wrote a mini-review after trying it out for a few hours so we could learn a little about this new game (go here for his full review). His more detailed review is forthcoming next week after many hours spent discovering all that is new and exciting about this version of the game. Here are a few of his early observations:

  • includes many gorgeous cutscenes :Everything looks superb, perhaps the best anime-style cutscenes in a video game yet
  • it is chatty
  • fights I’ve be in so far have been very much traditional Persona fare
  • Legendary composer Shoji Meguro is back to score Persona 5: the soundtrack is upbeat and inspired

Read Paul’s initial impressions then come back here to let us know what you are looking forward to the most in the Persona 5.

  1. Okay I waited this game for so long and I’m so happy that they finally released it but I’m depressed right now because I’m broke and I don’t have a chance to buy the limited edition of the game so it would be cool if you guys picked me as the winner of the Take your heart Edition before my birthday comes on April 30. Please

And I’m looking forward in Persona 5 is the PLOT TWIST, Story, the characters, and of course the soundtrack. To be honest, Im expecting they can top the previous Persona’s games. And hoping they can do it. From the Persona fanatic here in the Philippines 🙂

  2. Really looking forward to the social links, and how it ties into the theives quests. It’s a unique feature that persona’s developers really put some thought into. Also the updated art style for P5. Such a departure from previous games!

  3. I love the music in P3 and P4 which sounds unique and awesome. The music on the upper levels of tartarus (and even how the theme slowly morphs as you get higher) was fantastic and hope this game has some amazing tunes too.

  4. I love the character designs and the stories of Persona have always been interesting to me. I wish they would give the main character a little bit of dialogue but I still love the series none the less

  5. I haven’t actually played the persona games but my buddy swears by them so I am quite interested in trying the game.

  6. Fusing personas has always been really fun. Trying to find the best combination of skills and stats is kinda addictive.
I’ve heard they added the “negotiation” function from Shin Megami Tensei to the game, which should make collecting personas even better!

  7. I’ve seen a preview of the creative way they fuse the persona’s and I’m looking forward to that. I’m excited to dip back into the franchise again.

  8. Hoping that the relationship interactions in the game will be able to play a role in boosting some of the actions in combat : )

  9. My favorite detail is the incredible setting of Tokyo! I hope it is in as much beautiful detail as the previous.

  11. I really hope the Social Links will return in Persona 5 because it was a very interesting feature unique to the series.

Also, the soundtracks from the previous games have been amazing so I am looking forward to seeing if it’s even better in Persona 5 than the others before it!

  13. Love how they managed to make the usually boring for most games turn based combat and make it dynamic and very alive!

  14. I find the art style so different from most games and it really brings some life to the modern RPG genre! Very excited to see more Japanese development projects coming to North America!

  15. I think my favourite feature about the Persona games are the character interactions and how deep each of the characters are. I’m looking forward to meeting the new cast and learning more about them and their personas! Also, heard there was a lot of awesome cut scenes in this game, so looking forward to that as well 🙂

  16. I’m hoping for another great and deep story, like with previous Persona games. Maybe a cool mystery like in Persona 4.

  18. I am so attracted to this series because of it’s high school settings and it’s in modern Tokyo. One of my fav places to visit in the world! The beefy story and this cool JRPG style of battle makes it even more attractive.

  19. One thing I hope to see in the Persona series is the main character having more conversations and portrayed as a strong character

  20. I loved playing Persona 3 on my psp. The feature that I want to see the most is all the new Personas you can collect and fuse to make stronger ones. Also the graphics and cut scenes look amazing

  22. Ever since I saw Persona 4 Golden, I was very interested in the Persona series.

The overall artistic style is very chic and stylish! I really like the character changes. Getting to choose one out of three options is also very different and refreshing.
