Xbox Anthem

Microsoft’s most diverse lineup ever

Microsoft’s E3 2017 Briefing featured a massive lineup of 42 games, 22 of which are exclusive to Xbox at launch. It was milestone moment for the company, given the upcoming release of their new gaming console, Xbox One X. They took this opportunity to showcase many incredible games expected to release this year, and next. Here are the ones that caught my eye:

Anthem

Announced yesterday during the Electronic Arts conference, Anthem is the much-anticipated game Bioware has been working on for some time. Anthem is a shared-world action-RPG where you play as Freelancers who brave the wilds past the wall. The jungle setting looked amazing, and it’s filled with savage beasts and forgotten treasures to find. You can team up with other Freelancers to defeat the hostile forces that are threatening humanity. Before your journeys, you’ll outfit your Freelancer with powerful Javelin exosuits, each equipped with unique weapons and abilities. Of all the games I’ve seen so far at E3, Anthem definitely is the best looking.

Metro: Exodus

Metro: Exodus was the biggest surprise of the show for me. It’s a series I really enjoy, but it’s been a few years since the last entry. Metro: Exodus looks to be a story-driven first-person shooter that blends survival horror, exploration, and stealth all into one. The Russian setting was vast, and wild animals that roam the land were very hostile. Exodus will be non-linear and open-world, so you can chart your own path across this post-apocalyptic world. The game will take place over an entire in-game year, spanning winter, spring, summer, and fall.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Middle-earth: Shadow of War was given one of the largest segments and it mostly focused on the expansion of the Nemesis System. Now all the personalization from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is applied to the whole world, so everything will be shaped by your actions and decisions. This will result in a unique world shaped by every player. Warner Bros. also announced the game world is larger than the original, with many brand new areas to explore. Middle-earth: Shadow of War is releasing on October 10th of this year.

Assassins Creed Origins

Assassin’s Creed: Origins

We knew that an Assassin’s Creed game would be unveiled this week at E3, but we didn’t know it would be at Xbox’s Briefing! It was an exciting moment and the game looks phenomenal. It takes us way be to Ancient Egypt, the birthplace of modern civilization. As the game’s title implies, we’ll finally get to discover the secrets of the Assassin’s Brotherhood! New gameplay elements are introduced into the series, including the ability to see through the eyes of eagle. The combat also looks more varied and dynamic with new ranged and melee weapons. With Ubisoft’s press conference happening tomorrow, we should learn more about Assassin’s Creed Origins very soon!

Stay tuned for non-stop E3 news!
