Updates on upcoming Xbox titles at E3

During Microsoft’s E3 conference, we got new information about several games currently in development. These titles were announced at previous E3 shows and now we know a little bit more about them. Let’s take a look at what Microsoft had to say about their upcoming games lineup!

Crackdown 3

We got a funny (and awesome) new Crackdown 3 trailer featuring Terry Crews as Commander Jaxon. The game puts you in the role of a superpowered Agent in a huge sandbox world full of mayhem and destruction. It includes 4-player campaign co-op (great!) as well as an all-new multiplayer mode full of mass destruction. The multiplayer mode is being powered by the Microsoft Cloud to add even more processing power for dynamic destruction. Crackdown 3 is launching November 7, the same day as Xbox One X.

Sea of Thieves

Rare’s Sea of Thieves got a lengthy gameplay video showcasing the addition of underwater exploration and treasure hunting. In the ocean we saw menacing sharks that can eat you alive (yikes!) so you need to proceed with caution. On islands, you’ll be able to search for clues using pirate treasure maps. It was awesome to see all-new gunplay battles as you fight undead skeletons that emerge to protect their valuable treasure. We also saw plenty of co-operative multiplayer aspects, such as banding together to protect your pirate ally carrying the treasure box. Sea of Thieves will be releasing in early 2018.

Cuphead

Finally a release date for Cuphead! It will be coming out on September 28, 2017. We saw another trailer showcasing the game’s unique cartoon graphics inspired by 1930s Disney animations. The game features two playable characters, Cuphead and Mugman, and together you’ll face huge bosses and have to overcome challenging platforming levels. The game is looking beautiful, and great to know it’s releasing very soon!

State of Decay 2

Microsoft’s zombie survival fantasy game series State of Decay returns on Xbox One. This this newest entry you’ll need to form alliances with other humans to survival a deadly zombie-infested world. The game is playable solo, or you can partner up with three friends to take on this hostile world in multiplayer co-op. The original game was very underrated, and with vastly improved production values I have high expectations for the sequel. State of Decay 2 releasing in Spring 2018.
