This is a great year to introduce your home to a new smart home camera from D-Link. They have many cameras to choose from, and their latest models will astound you with their simple set-up, ease of operation, and the huge increase in security you get. To help you learn for yourself how secure you’ll feel with one installed in your home, Best Buy is giving away 6 cameras in this contest (3 indoor and 3 outdoor) as shown above. Enter now for your chance to be one of the 6 lucky winners!

Now is the time to install a smart camera

Smart home camera technology has come a long way in only a few short years. The quality of the captured image, ability to see the action in real time on your phone no matter where you are in the world, and the ease and versatility of the installation are simply remarkable. The advantages of owning some (or even just one!) is obvious: security for your family, for your home, and for your valuables.

Summer is the perfect time to make your home smarter and a great security camera is the perfect way to start. Smart home technology is an investment into the future safety and security of your home and family. Once autumn arrives you’ll be too busy to make changes around the home. However, do the changes now, then when the new school and work season begins you’ll be glad you did. A great security camera will protect your home when those shorter, darker fall and winter days offer more opportunities to thieves. Also, a camera allows you to see your kids when they arrive home from school—you’ll know if they had a good day or not right away!

D-Link’s latest cameras, the Full HD 180 degree indoor and outdoor cameras, offer all of these benefits and more. To learn all about them, you can read the review that Leo Bond just posted on the Best Buy Blog. He reviewed the same types of camera that we are giving as the prizes in this contest.

How to Enter to win a D-Link Full HD 180 degree camera

You can enter this contest right here on the blog. You can enter only once by telling us in a comment where you would most want to place a camera (outdoors or indoors) and why. You may want both, but to be eligible to win you must choose either an outdoor location or an indoor location and discuss your choice in a comment below.

What you can win

We will randomly choose 6 winners from all eligible entries: 3 will win a D-Link Wi-Fi Outdoor 180 Degree HD Camera, and 3 will win a D-Link Wi-Fi Indoor 180 Degree HD Camera. We will try to ensure that the winners get the type of camera they requested in their comment; however, since the draw is random that may not be possible.

The contest will run from Friday July 14th until Monday July 31st.

Remember you can only enter once. After you leave a comment below share this post on your social channels so your friends and family can also have a chance to win.

Also, subscribe to the blog so you can get email notifications when new posts and new contests get added to the blog: you will never miss out on another contest!

  1. I would locate the D-link camera outside to monitor the back yard of our home when we are away. The peace of mind would be Wonderful !! We also get a lot of wildlife in our yard, so it would be quite entertaining too 🙂 Thank you Best Buy for the chance to win !!

  2. Outdoor for us. Security purposes mostly… and to see who’s tipping over my planters every couple nights…

  3. We live on rural property, and I would love an outdoor security camera for additional security.

  4. I would like an outdoor security camera, I live near centretown in Ottawa, and had our car broken into a couple of times, and a neighbor that had their bike stolen. This would provide some extra security.

  5. My pick is the D-Link Wi-Fi Outdoor 180 Degree HD Camera because I would love to see outside my home

  6. I would want the Outdoor camera to mount at my front door to have a clear view of my entire front of the house and driveway.

  7. i would use outdoor as a precautionary measure and deterrent . i already trust people indoors and i dont need to keep an eye on them. plus any stranger that gets into my home will have to come from the outside.

  8. One of these cameras outside in the backyard would help deter people from enaging in undesirable activities in the back alley; not just for my property, but the neighbouring properties as well. Two nights ago my neighbour’s 35 foot RV trailer was stolen from the back alley and a camera set up from my house would have likely captured a license plate, or at least the type of vehicle that was used to haul it away. It’s also likely that the culprits scoped out the trailer beforehand, and if they noticed a camera there’s a good chance they decide not to take the risk on this one. We have also had vehicles broken into and fences tore down from people getting up to no good in the back alley.

  9. I would love an outdoor security camera for additional security. It would be a great deterrent for potential bad guys.

  10. I would like the outdoor camera for security. I would place it so that I could view the front of our home. We are still getting so many door to door sales people and it would be good for overall general security.

  11. I would place the camera outside to see the wildlife that is wandering around my house at night.

  12. I would place the camera outdoors because I would love to see what is dragging away my mouse traps.

  13. We could use an outdoor alarm system as we’ve had the odd thing disappear from our carport over a number of years

  14. I already have “TWO” alarm systems in my house (two beagles), so I would love to have a indoor camera so I could watch my (TWO) alarm systems at work when I’m not home.

  15. I’d use the camera outside at my small coffeehouse – part of my mission is to make the neighbourhood safer, and it would give me a better idea of what goes on when I’m not around!

    • Good point Brock: they can help make places safer; many people won’t even try to break the law when they know they might be captured in a video that might then be shared with police or even on the internet!

  16. My front door is prewired for a camera but never put it in. Power is waiting for a new camera!!!

  17. Would use it outdoors- there has been an increase in thefts from cars in my area lately and I would use it to monitor the front of the house/driveway.

  18. I would love to have the outdoor camera to monitor our front entrance. Thanks for the opportunity!

  19. Looks like a great idea, except I am skeptical regarding keeping recording on SD card.
Too easy to steal camera all together with recording …

  20. I would use it outside. To protect my truck and front door. I’ve had my truck broken into twice, the first time they broke the door handle getting in, and ripped up my dash trying to steal it but failed. (Luckily) the second time just tossed all my kids toys out of the cement. (Nothing to steal)

  21. I would love to have the D-Link Wi Fi Outdoor 180 Degree HD Camera because it would replace the one my husband has wired up to the computer indoors to see the front yard.

  22. Outside because a 90lb girl was trying to steal our 50lb gargoyle one morning as we walked out the door for work.

  23. I would use the outdoor camera to monitor the front door entrance and garage. I have used Dlink products in the past and it would be cool to compare the video upgrade.

  24. I would most want to place a camera “Outdoors”.
I chose this because this IP Camera would probably travel with me and be used indoors and out!
Aside from the Digital Zoom, the Camera stats are almost identical, with the outdoor one being of All-weather design, so it’s a no brainer for me.
    Thanks

  25. I will be installed D-link camera outside entrance door safe and keep monitor all year around… Thanks for chance to win.

  26. I would like to install an outdoor D-Link camera so that i could monitor my property and It would make me feel more secure.

  27. I would locate the D-link camera outside to monitor the back yard of our home. In the winter there are rather mysterious tracks in the snow and currently the motion detection lights are being activated a little too often for comfort. I would like to know what is happening in the dark of night.

  28. I would love to get the D-Link Wi-Fi Indoor 180 Degree HD Camera because I already have a great outdoor camera I got at best buy but nothing for the indoors
