best gifts for mother's dayI’m a mom to four, and because of my kids I always look forward to Mother’s Day. They always know exactly what to do to make it special, and I’m happy to be surrounded by them and spend time with them whether they present me with a flower they picked from the garden or a cool gift they know I’ve been eyeing.

But what impresses me about the cool gifts is that I don’t hand over a list to the kids and I never really ask for anything. What they do is choose something that they know I like because they’ve listened to me talk about a certain device or appliance over the past few months, they’ve peeked in at the Best Buy wish list I’ve always got on the go, or they see me struggle with something like my headphones and they know that a new set would help me out.

That’s why, for me, the best Mother’s Day gifts are those that show my kids know me and they know me well, and my friends all feel the same way.

If you’ve been wondering what to get for your mom or you want to help your kids choose something for your wife, here’s a few of the best Mother’s day gifts as picked by moms.

Best tech gifts for Mother’s Day

If you’ve read any of my posts over the past few years here on Best Buy, you know I’m a huge tech fan. Smart home devices and all of the goodies that go along with them are my favourite, and I’m a mom who would be absolutely delighted by any type of smart home gift or techy device.

Tile Mate helps mom find her keys

tile mate bluetooth trackerI was gifted a few Tile Mate Bluetooth trackers for Christmas this year. I received them for a few good reasons, the most important being that my kids know I constantly lose my wallet and keys. In fact, having Tile Mate recently helped me discover that the wallet I thought was in my car with me was in fact left behind at our local Ikea.

I like them so much I’ll be grabbing a few more for other items I constantly lose.

Tablet Accessories help mom use a tablet in creative ways

griffin survivor tablet caseI just brought home a brand-new iPad, and the reason why I did that was because my last iPad wasn’t in a case when it smashed to the ground. That’s why an iPad case like the Griffin Survivor All-Terrain Case is a great gift for any mom. It’s a rugged case with shatter-resistant and shock-absorbing silicone that wraps your iPad in a protective layer, even when you drop it on the hard floor.

I also love that I can prop it up on its stand and use it in the kitchen, and I don’t have to worry about whether or not my mixer just splattered cake dough on it.

Dash Cam keeps an eye on the roads for you

dash cam for mother's daySometimes driving isn’t fun. Because I tend to drive with the kids more than my husband does, the kids and I have always talked about having a dash cam on the car. I’d like one to record weird traffic issues and a few near misses I’ve had when other cars swooped toward me, and I think it would make a great Mother’s Day gift.

Kitchen gifts for Mother’s Day

I’ll be the first person to tell you that I absolutely love getting appliances and kitchen gadgets for gifts. I know, some people might think that gifting things like a blender for Mother’s Day isn’t the best idea, but I also know a lot of moms who would be dancing around the house if they unwrapped a KitchenAid stand mixer or a Vitamix blender.

That’s because so many of my friends are foodies like I am, and they know that these small appliances actually make creative cooking a lot easier and more fun.

Stand mixers make the perfect gift for any special day

KitchenAid stand mixerYes, it’s true: I’m the biggest fan of stand mixers, and my KitchenAid stand mixer has been a fixture on my counter top for the past 8 years. I honestly can’t imagine baking without it, and when you use the KitchenAid attachments it will also temper chocolate, make pasta, and grind meat or nuts.

Food processors make quick work of chopping

food processor My kids just bought me a food processor for Christmas this year and I’m shocked I managed to live without one for so long. Whether you choose the KitchenAid Mini Food Processor to chop up a few cups of vegetables or a large food processor like the Breville Sous Chef 16-cup food processor, you’ll be able to easily make sauces, pulverize nuts, and whip up a salad in an instant.

Give the gift of clean floors with a vacuum cleaner

dyson animal ball 2 I don’t know how many times I’ve heard someone say, “I’d love a Dyson” when they see my vacuum cleaner. That’s because they know that this is a vacuum that can stand up to anything, and after moving to a farm where dirt seems to gravitate to all corners of the house, I can say that this is the one small appliance I would never want to be without here.

Maybe Mother’s Day this year is the day you’ll finally bring home a Dyson too, and although every Dyson has powerful suction and extras to help you clean, after reviewing the Dyson Ball Animal 2, I can’t recommend it enough. I’ve never seen such strong suction in a vacuum, and the pet tool really comes in handy when cleaning fur off the dogs.

Handbags are a Mother’s Day gift that keeps on giving

helly hansen toteAlong with tech devices, I have a true love of all things handbag. I love handbags of all types, and Fossil is one of my favourite brands for crossbody, satchels, and totes.

When Rae posts her previews of the latest handbags to hit Best Buy, I always add them to my Best Buy wish list and always share with the people in my life so they know which bags I’m currently coveting. That list now includes the Helly Hansen Lightweight Tote, because it’s spring time and it’s perfect.

The best gifts for Mother’s Day are those that really appeal to the gift recipient, and whether she’s like me and she loves tech, small appliances, and handbags, or she’s a fan of jewelry or fitness gear, there’s something for her on Best Buy.
